Thomas' concerts are always designed to fit the room, location and occasion . The concert must be a unique event happening in front of that particular audience on that specific time. The acoustics of the room, the shape (and sometimes the furniture) are always integrated in the pieces. The concert usually consist of compositions, improvisations and physical performance elements. The sound sources are percussion instruments, found objects, voice & body and finally what is found at the concert place. Electroacoustic amplification, computer, synthesizers, samplers and various multiFX units are also used to extend the artistic possibilities.
Thomas has often created pieces, where he only played on the room itself : walls, windows, doors, seats, floor etc. and quite often he integrates the sounds from the audience as well.
In august 2005 he played on a new building created by the iraque architect Zaha Hadid at the museum Ordrupgaard north of Copenhagen, Denmark. He has played on many other buildings since then including The Louisiana Art Museum.
